Dr. Nicholas L. Pintauro ND...

Dr. Nicholas L. Pintauro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, minor Chemistry, from Boston College. He received his Naturopathic Doctoral Degree (ND) Suma Cum Laude at the University Of Bridgeport College Of Naturopathic Medicine. He is a licensed Naturopathic Physician by the State Naturopathic Board of Connecticut.
During his four years in naturopathic medical school, Dr. Pintauro devoted much of his time to the study of whole food nutrition, homeopathy and botanical medicine from renowned experts in the field. He worked and studied at Herb Pharm, Oregon (www.herb-pharm.com), and continued as a student representative for Standard Process (www.standardprocess.com). Through his complementary studies Dr. Pintauro is able to incorporate his knowledge of therapeutic products in order to administer them safely and effectively.
Dr. Pintauro’s introduction to naturopathic medicine was at the age of six when he suffered from chronic ear infections. While his pediatricians continued to increase the potency of antibiotics, nothing alleviated the condition. Desperate for a different solution, his parents turned to naturopathic medicine. It only took a few treatments of garlic and mullein oil to clear what became his last ear infection. From that moment forward, naturopathy became the primary treatment for his family’s healthcare.
Dr. Pintauro believes that healthcare is a continuum ranging from the most physical of treatments, such as surgery, to the subtler areas of healthcare, such as psychology. The realm between these encompasses everything from pharmacology, naturopathy, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, etc. Within this model, naturopathy is not alternative medicine, but rather complementary as it works in harmony with other therapies in order to meet the patient’s health needs.
